The challenge
The D-MSE is a skeletally anchored maxillary expander planned digitally in 3D. That planning has to reach two different audiences: the clinician, who needs to measure, annotate and navigate the model precisely, and the patient, who needs to understand what will be done without technical tools in front of them.
The solution
Maurer Labs built for CD Ortosan a web 3D viewer with two modes over the same planning: the clinical one, with real-time measurement, annotation and navigation, and the patient one, simplified to explain the treatment. Alongside the viewer, the pipeline that processes each case's 3D models and makes them ready to view in the browser.
