3D software for shipbuilding and the maritime industry
Maurer Labs is a 3D software engineering studio specialized in shipbuilding and the maritime industry: yacht configurators on the web and in virtual reality, renders and hardware modeling, and digital twins with on-board data.
Projects that prove it
What we do
Yacht configurators
Real-time web configurator with compatibility rules between hulls, finishes and equipment, built for Kumbra Yachts.
Virtual reality on board
The same configurator in virtual reality: the customer steps aboard, walks the yacht at real scale and changes the options from inside.
Renders and hardware modeling
Hyperrealistic exterior and interior renders and 3D modeling of ship hardware (bollards, ship's wheels, handrails) with production-ready topology.
Digital twins and sensors
The vessel's 3D model connected to on-board and shipyard data, for monitoring, maintenance and simulation visualization.
Who it is for
- Shipyards and yacht brands that sell boats before they are built.
- Shipowners and operators that want to follow their vessels from a 3D model with real data.
- Marine equipment and hardware manufacturers that need catalog models and visualization.
- Naval engineering firms with simulations and CAD that only their authors can read today.
How we work
- 01
We understand the vessel and the business
Models, options, configuration rules and the systems to integrate with, in your language rather than ours.
- 02
Prototype with your models
A first navigable version with the real models of the yacht or vessel, so decisions are made on something you can touch.
- 03
Deliveries and fairs
Short, reviewable deliveries, and software ready to be shown where it matters: on the web and at the stand.

Frequently asked questions
What have you already done for the maritime sector?
The Kumbra Yachts 3D yacht configurator and its virtual reality version, hyperrealistic yacht renders and 3D modeling of ship hardware, and an article on sensor integration in the naval industry. We exhibit at Navalia (2024 and 2026) and have been at the Valencia Boat Show.
Does a yacht configurator run on the shipyard's website?
Yes. The Kumbra Yachts configurator is a real-time web application that can be linked or embedded in the brand's website, with nothing for the customer to install.
Can you work with our naval CAD models?
Yes. We convert and optimize CAD models and heavy meshes to web formats with clean topology, as we did with the ship hardware, keeping the detail each use needs.
Do you build digital twins of vessels?
We build digital twins that connect the 3D model with on-board and shipyard sensors and systems. Tell us which data you have and which decisions you want to make with it and we will propose a bounded first phase.
